Facebook to hold talks with government on Sunday
The largest social networking site Facebook's 2 officials will hold talks with the government representative on Sunday.
The facebook officials will meet home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, state minister for posts and telecommunications Tarana Halim and state minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday morning 9.00 am at the secretariat. Officials concerned will also be present there.
Facebook’s South Asia policy manager Dipali Liberan and political and legal adviser Vikram Lange will represent the top social networking site.
On November 30, Tarana Halim sent an email to the authority pointing out the adverse effects of Facebook's misuse in Bangladesh. Immediately after a day, the Facebook replied the mail and showed interested for meeting.
Government blocked Facebook in Bangladesh on November 18 to check spread of rumors and instigation for violence.
