One Bangladeshi citizen named Amulla Chandra Barman (38) has shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Hatibandha border of Lalmonirhat.
Amulla Chandra Barman is son of Mohesh Chandra Barman, a resident of Daikhawa in Hatibandha upazila. The incident happened at about 3am Thursday night on Daikhawa border of Hatibandha upazila of no.6 sub-pillar of no. 901 main-pillar.
Locals and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) told, a gang of 6-7 cow smugglers was trying to cut barbwire while a patrolling team of Kochbihar 21 BSF battalion started fire at them. Amulla shot dead instantly. Other cow traders brought his body home.
Lalmonirhat-15 BGB battalion commander Lt Colonel Ahmed Bazlur Rahman Hayati confirmed this. He said, they have sent stern protest letter to BSF and called a flag meeting.
